  • Great for beginners
  • Premium Badminton String Included
  • Excellent Control
  • 21g Head weight ensures consistent shot and great power

  • Grip Tape is not very durable
  • Head weight, balance, grip tape, and shaft can all be changed to the user's preference by changing the string.

The Yonex Duora Z-Strike Badminton Racket is a medium-weighted racket with a head weight of 88.9g, a balance of 320mm, and a shaft of 75mm. This racket’s weight makes it a bit heavier than the YONEX Duora 89 Badminton Racket and lighter than the YONEX Duora 10 Badminton Racket.

The extra weight makes it easier to launch, hit, and maintain power on the shuttlecock, while the slightly shorter length of the shaft makes it easier to give a firm hit with less stretch on the racquet.

The grip is tapered and quite narrow. Because of its narrow shape, the tape may start to peel off in some places. The grip is also quite grippy to the touch.

  • Great Design
  • Available in 3 attractive color options
  • The arc design is made to be more comfortable for your arms especially if you’re a beginner
  • Great balance and maneuverability
  • Replaceable Hemolytic M4 strings

  • Only available at 11.7 point
  • Can be challenging to string
  • Slight dead spot in the stringbed

The Yonex ArcSaber 11 is a fantastic racket for beginners and intermediate players as it’s equipped with eye-catching design and performance that is very reliable.

The frame is a fairly standard size and comes in at 11.7 points. The weight distribution is slightly towards the head, but the overall balance and maneuverability are exemplary.

The strings that come with the racket are Hemolytic M4, so it’s a good idea to replace those with something synthetic for improved play. Each of the five gut/polyester hybrid strings is easy to replace and restringing the racket is straightforward (follow the instructions in the manual).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which Yonex badminton racket is best for intermediate players?

There are many differences between beginner and intermediate-level badminton players. The most obvious is skill level, but there are also differences in the type of racket that will best suit their needs.

For example, if you are a beginner-level player, you probably don't need much of the unique features and performance-enhancing technologies that make more expensive and higher quality rackets stand out among their peers. However, if you are a more serious player, you will likely want a racket of better quality that is more efficient, better weighted, and provides enhanced grip.

In this section, we cover the best badminton rackets for intermediate players to help you decide which racket is right for you. We also highlight some of the key differences between beginner and intermediate-level rackets to highlight what you might be missing out on if you choose beginner-level gear.

Which racket is best for badminton?

There are several choices that will fit the bill. My favorite is the Prince Zest Vigor Badminton Racket. It’s lightweight, balanced, stable, and has a solid frame. It’s durable and a great value for what you pay. In general, I most often recommend Yonex models for men.

When it comes to women, there are several possibilities from Yonex and Prince. The Yonex V-shuttle Evolution women’s racket offers a comfortable feel, improved shuttle handling, and an excellent appearance.

What is an intermediate badminton player?

Your game should be vaguely defined and the person should have a good understanding of badminton basics, like scoring, serving, and attacking. Intermediate players should be able to serve with some skill and be able to catch and return some serves successfully, even winning the point once or twice a match.

What strings do professional badminton players use?

The majority of professional badminton players use high-grade synthetic fiber strings for their rackets. Polyester, nylon, or hybrid strings are far more durable than those made of natural fibers.

Professional players typically won’t settle for anything that breaks easily with all the slamming and hitting they do.

In our experience, a Yonex Nano Ray 2100 is the best badminton racket for intermediate players. It's attractively priced, durable, and provides great returns on investment. The Yonex is powerful for loops and drives, and has exceptional control and response. It has a frame that supports good maneuverability, and is suited to intermediate players as well as those with more experience. The Yonex Nano Ray 2100 has also garnered high praise from buyers online.
